Does the TE250 share the KTM EXC250 engine?

Hi all,

I currently have a FE390, and I'm looking for a 2 stroke to add to the stable. I've been looking at the KTM EXC 250, just because they are so easy to find, but I have stumbled across a 2012 Husaberg TE250. I was just wondering, does the 2012 TE250 share the same engine and gearbox as the 2012 KTM EXC 250?

Thanks!

Yup!

"The frame and engine are identical, however the bits bolted to that frame give the Berg its own flavor."

I'm a little scared about the whole 2 stroke thing, I rode a KTM 300 Six Days a few weeks ago and it tried to kill me! Hopefully the 250 berg will treat me as well as the 390 has

heheh I think you'll be fine - the 'Berg seems to get really good reviews for handling and motor character, pls 2-stroke power delivery (I mistyped that "devilery" just now, haha) ... the power delivery can be tuned quite a bit! reed valves and whatnot?

My understanding is that you can make a big difference to the power delivery using different springs on the power valve, changing the RPM's at which the PV opens and closes. That's on the KTM, but I'm assuming it's the same on the TE.

Hopefully I'll live to write a review

you might want to invest in a g2 throttle cam to reduce your whiskey throttle chances. I bought a 250xc. Put in the yellow power valve spring. Still has way more hit than my 390, But really good to have a 4 and 2 stroke. completely different riding style to each. Still have a lot of respect for the 250, but now I completely flog the clutch to find power on the 390

I've ridden a couple of 2 strokes and the biggest thing for me is the lack of engine braking downhill. I certainly get to the bottom quicker on a 2T than a 4T

So the TE has the exact same PV spring setup as the KTM?
